Plotopia Progress – Weeks 14 & 15

With Christmas and all that brings, together with the typical weather at this time of year, not a great deal has been done on the plot.

I’ve visited a few times, mostly to monitor the drainage and water logging, but there hasn’t been any progress otherwise.

I’m very conscious of the need to ‘crack on’ with things now.  At the moment I have nowhere ready for planting, so the planned fruit trees and bushes have to wait.  There is no staging assembled yet, so I need to that in time for January sowings.  There’s a huge mound of manure on site, as well as a good helping of woodchip – so everything is there that I need, I just need the time to get it done!

The priority at the moment remains to get the timber beds in place.  I can at least then get some manure put on the beds, woodchip down for paths and the perimeter hedging installed.  All of this needs doing as soon as possible really – preferably in January.

Added to that, the RHS exams take place in February so I need to make sure I’m ready for that. As ready as I can be, anyway! I’ll also be starting my BSc in February too.  The first quarter of 2019 is going to be an exceptionally busy one!

Short and sweet update this time.  I’m hoping to get on the plot later in the week so I’ll hopefully have some progress to share too.  I was lucky enough to be gifted a gimbal for Christmas too, so I’ll hopefully be adding some videos from the plot (and elsewhere) throughout 2019.
